APRIL 2008

In April it was time to say Ya Sas (bye-bye) and Kalo Taxithi (good trip) to Yaya and Papou as they went back to Greece. They had been here since the day after Thanksgiving and cherished the long visit with Katerina. I expect they will be back before the end of the year.

A trip to Muscoot Farm where we got to see a baby piglet and baby goats who had been born earlier that week. Each year we try to catch the newborns in the spring. And each year we take the same pictures of Katerina on the tractor and milking the wooden cow!

My mother came to visit soon after Constantin's parents left. She timed her visit to include Greek Easter. Unfortunately, Greek Easter was very quiet this year. We didn't plan a gathering at our house because Constantin was just too tuckered out, and George was busy with the restaurant. Unfortunately, Briars was not celebrating Easter with a traditional meal or we would have made reservations there. Instead, we made reservations at a nice Greek Taverna in White Plains and when we got there, they had experienced a kitchen fire and the restaurant was closed. They directed us to another of their restaurants and said they would be sending the lamb which had been cooked outside on a rotisserie over to there. The restaurant was not at all Greek. Yes folks, we celebrated Easter at Mighty Joe Youngs, a steak house. Constantin was extremely disappointed and my guess is we'll go back to having friends and family over on Easter.......tuckered out or not.

While my mother was here we had some beautiful weather and were able to enjoy a nice lunch at Seaside Johnnie's.

Spring fever struck and off to the Bronx Zoo we went with Phyllis and Julianne. The girls had a wonderful time.

April also included a visit from the Loftins. We have such a nice time with them and Katerina and Tessie enjoy each other so much. We don't get to see enough of them.

Briarcliff Nursery School held a special day for Dads and their kids. I was there as well because I was on the Social Committee and we put the event together. Katerina was so proud to be at her school with her Dad. She showed him all around and her favorite spot was the story corner.

Princess Sonia paid Princess Katerina a visit one afternoon.
Fun in the tub

And of course, we celebrated Uncle Bobby's birthday on April 9th.
